Year-Round Team
In a normal year the team is based at the Golden Gate Yacht Club (GGYC). They compete in the NORCAL high school league during the Fall and early Spring. Sailing at Alameda Community Sailing Center (ACSC) keeps them on the water all year.
Our Growing Fleet
It all began with the pandemic year. Canceled sports inspired the team to rally around the three Lasers that were parked at the ACSC. The team is learning the fundamentals of singlehanded sailing, improving our skills and, most of all, having fun!
The Future
This 501(c)(3) non-profit endeavors to keep the kids sailing throughout their high school years. As the SOTA Sailing Team grows, new members and their families are always welcome. Our dream is to pass along sailing opportunities to future families.

About Us
With this Association the team at Ruth Asawa SOTA have a supportive group that can pool resources to keep them on the water. We are very grateful for the dry-dock at Alameda Community Sailing Center .
Our Wish List
Boat maintenance, dry-dock fees, uniforms, equipment, new boats, scholarships, regatta fees, travel expenses. Sharing these between members can get expensive. We hope to draw in more sailors from different socio-economic classes so that every youth who looks out onto the SF Bay can say, “That’s my playground!”
Can we count on you?
Summer 2021 is all about our new foiling boat Windrider Rave. Gifted to us by the generosity of Bob Wong. We have fixed it up and our goal for the summer is to go fast! Follow us on Instagram.com/SotaSailing
